About Coach Carl

Carl "Gator" Nelson, of Duluth, Minnesota, is a husband, father, grandfather, and Registered Nurse, who is energized by every aspect of football. He's been writing poetry about the games of the NFL every weekend since 1989. He started sharing his poems with a small email group whose list grew and grew. His fantastic recall and game sense, along with his ability to express his views humorously and poetically landed him a stint as a radio sports guest commentator, and a regular football sites contributor to several Internet message boards and web sites. With the help of his equally energetic "Viking fan" wife Debbie, Carl's passion for football and poetry became his first published work, PACKERS "verses" VIKINGS.
